Saint Vincent's School Relief Operation Drive
First topic message reminder :
OCTOBER 9, 2009.
As a result of the successive typhoons back home, a landslide buried seventeen houses in Kayan, Tadian. We just received a sad news that atleast 28 people were reported missing and several bodies were recovered after the side of a mountain collapsed, several injured and 5 confirmed dead. All roads leading to Mt. Province are closed so the province is practically isolated. With majority of donations pouring towards Manila for the victims of the recent floods. I suggest we can also help in our own little way.
The center of relief operation is at Holy Rosary Parish Church, Kayan, Tadian, where our very own Fr. Andrew Claver is the parish priest. Upon learning the news, Saint Vincent´s School spearheaded by Fr. John Habawel, parish priest of Sta. Rita Cathedral, Bontoc immediately announced in the morning mass for voluntary donations from the parishioners. In the classrooms, teachers passed the hat to the pupils/students for what ever amount collected for the typhoon victims in Tadian. All the different associations: Knights of Columbus, Holy Family Siciety, Catholic Womens League, Holy Name Society, Couples For Christ and others moved to take action for aide.
The Provincial Government, lead by Gov. Maximo Dalog requested the urgent purchase of generator to be used in Tadian, likewise the immediate opening and clearing of the road caused by the landslides.
As a Catholic community we like to help in any way we can. Let us help THE HOLY ROSARY PARISH MISSION, KAYAN, TADIAN by giving any donations we wish to extend.
FOR VOLUNTARY DONATIONS, PLEASE CONTACT FR. ANDREW CLAVER, Parish Priest of Holy Rosary, Kayan, Tadian.
