The Saint Vincent’s Alumni Foundation takes as its own the purposes and aims of the Saint Vincent’s School as a Catholic Institution. Having been formed in a Cordilleran setting, the Saint Vincent’s School alumnus not only treasures and seeks to enrich the culture of his native region, but also, through his role in the community and society, tries to contribute to the
development goals and needs of the community of Bontoc, Mountain Province, the Cordilleran region, and the nation at large.
development goals and needs of the community of Bontoc, Mountain Province, the Cordilleran region, and the nation at large.
Having been formed in the Catholic Institution of Saint Vincent’s School, the alumnus following the example and life of Jesus and faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church, dedicates himself to the proclamation of Faith with his involvement in the building of Basic Ecclesial Communities in the community, region, and society.
Having been formed in the Catholic Institution of Saint Vincent’s School, the alumnus values the goals of Catholic Education through the harmonious development of physical, intellectual, moral, and religious virtues. He continues to further this development not only in himself and his fellow alumni, but also in the community, region, and society of which he is a member.
Thus, continuing to grow to his full potential, the alumnus perseveres in the task of seeking always the greater glory of God and the fuller service of mankind.
The Saint Vincent’s Alumni Foundation, Inc. then seeks to help the alumnus attain the task of witnessing to his faith in God and living a life of service to his fellowmen especially his least brothers and sisters.
B. The Saint Vincent’s Alumni Foundation, Inc.
The Saint Vincent’s Alumni Foundation had it’s beginnings on the occasion of the Saint Vincent’s School Alumni homecoming on the last week of December 1990. During the homecoming, the alumni celebrated their coming together with a sharing of their life and experiences, with songs and dances, and with the sharing of bread in the same table. It was during this memorable homecoming, with the officers of the Saint Vincent’s School Alumni Association and other alumni of the school taking the initiative, that the Saint Vincent’s Alumni Foundation was formally organized and established. Taking into account the mission entrusted to the Saint Vincent’s School alumnus, the Saint Vincent’s Alumni Foundation has been set up .for the following purposes and goals:
- To unite alumni of the Saint Vincent’s School into a Basic Ecclesial Community to pursue the educational objectives and keep alive the Christian principles and patriotic ideals fostered in and imbibed from said institution;
- To provide aid and support for the alumni of Saint Vincent’s School and their families in time of need;
- To establish a scholarship funds primarily to help poor but deserving students of both the Elementary and High School levels of Saint Vincent’s and, in special cases, to help poor but deserving graduates of the high school pursue college degrees;
- To help in the improvement of the educational facilities of the school, and to provide support for the School’s Faculty Development Program so as to improve and strengthen the quality of education of the institution;
- On the basis of Christian mission to help and love our neighbors, the Foundation seeks to provide avenues and programs for the social involvement of the alumni of the School to respond to the various needs relative to the Total Human Development of the community of Bontoc, Mountain Province and the Cordillera region;
- For the purpose of carrying out the purposes aforementioned, to tap the alumni of their financial resources, to solicit donations and organize campaigns for soliciting funds for said purposes; and generally to do and perform all acts and things reasonably necessary and proper for the carrying out of the foregoing purpose.
